Structural alterations and fit-out of a large-scale gym

The scope of work included the completion of the structural alterations required to construct a 2050sqm gym fit-out at the Tallaght Square complex in Dublin. The project was located in a pedestrianised area without any vehicular access which provided numerous logistical challenges regarding the delivery of materials to the worksite. The project involved the fabrication and installation of a structural steel mezzanine floor, approx. area 230sqm. A concrete sprung floor was designed and installed by Lovebuild Construction Specialists to satisfy the acoustic requirements specified by the design team. The construction team designed and installed light-weight timber acoustic floors in several areas throughout the gym. A series of studios were constructed, complete with acoustic walls and 1200sqm of specialist acoustic ceilings.

Two suites of changing facilities were constructed including locker rooms, showers. DDA facilities were also designed and provided. The gym floor areas were fitted out with an array of impact flooring and astroturf areas. A bespoke air-conditioning and ventilation system was designed and installed in the gym. A complete electrical package comprising of lighting, fire alarm, A.V. system and CCTV which was designed to the client’s specific requirements was installed.
